The Flame is an adaptive reuse of bar in a historic Egyptian Revival District in the North Park Neighborhood of San Diego. Prior to this incarnation, it was was a 6,000 square foot renowned Lesbian bar. After sitting fallow for several years, it was re-designed to accommodate a 2,000 commercial space and 6 residential units. The original neon sign was neon sign as well as the distinctive façade were renovated. the new building fronts were set back in deference to the neon sign and façade.
